A long-awaited Destination Wedding in Cartagena at charming Villa
Melissa and Armando's long-awaited destination wedding in Cartagena was an unforgettable and romantic event that exceeded everyone's expectations. After three years of waiting, the couple finally tied the knot amidst the stunning and historic colonial backdrop of Cartagena. The tropical vibes added to the already enchanting atmosphere, making it a truly memorable experience for all who attended.
Cartagena de Indias is a great destination for weddings and special events. With its breathtaking scenery, colonial architecture, and vibrant culture, it is the perfect backdrop for a romantic celebration. Located in the Caribbean Sea, Cartagena has become a popular destination for couples from all over the world who come to experience its unique charm and beauty.
Knowing about the charms of Cartagena, Armando, and Melissa e-mailed me with the intention of hiring a Wedding Planner. They didn’t have an exact date in mind for the celebration, but they were sure they wanted a destination wedding in Cartagena.
On April 2018, the couple told me that they would be on vacation in the city for a couple of days in May, wanting to take the opportunity to visit some venues and churches in line with their wedding expectations. Taking into account the couple's requirements, we started making an estimated budget for the wedding without having defined the date. We used all the available digital tools such as web pages, social networks, and countless video calls to help them choose the ideal venue for their wedding. Finally, we decided to visit some of the nearby places and churches in the colonial city, that’s how they fell in love with the Colonial Villa chosen for the wedding.
Initially, the destination wedding was planned to be in September 2019, however, due to the couple's personal plans, the wedding had to be rescheduled for 2020, little did we know that it would be a difficult year due to an unexpected global pandemic. This is how Armando and Melissa decided to choose a new date for the wedding in September 2021.
The long-awaited destination wedding of Armando and Melissa in Cartagena was a truly memorable event for everyone in attendance. The couple had been waiting for more than three years to finally tie the knot and the event didn’t disappoint with the romantic and colonial style of the scenery and an atmosphere that was filled with tropical vibes.
The ceremony was held in front of their closest family and friends, many of them visiting Colombia for the first time. The event was also live on Instagram so the ones that couldn’t be there would join in the distance. Although the sentiment was undoubtedly romantic, the tone of the ceremony was tasteful and heartfelt. Armando and Melissa are now happily married and everyone wishes them nothing but the best!
Melissa and Armando celebrated their destination wedding in a colonial house located at the Historic Centre of Cartagena. The decorations suited the romantic atmosphere of the place, delicate hanging lights and a mix of lots of whites and greens were used to create this romantic garden vibe look for the event.
The food was very significant for the couple because they wanted to bring and offer a piece of their culture through their wedding food, so the buffet included Korean food, Filipino, and Spanish food. The reception menu was completed with late-night appetizers where the guests enjoyed some delicious Venezuelan snacks.
Melissa and Armando opened the dance floor with their first dance as husband and wife. The song choice was a romantic ballad for this magical moment of connection with each other and celebration of their love.
The fun music and lively atmosphere set the tone for the rest of the evening making people dance to the rhythm of drums and tropical music. As the party continued and people danced, body temperatures started to rise so guests needed a way to cool down. Taking the party to the pool was a fun and refreshing solution to keep it going!
Overall, Melissa and Armando’s wedding reception was a wonderful celebration of love and culture, with plenty of joy, fun, and memorable moments for all the guests. Definitely, a night to remember!
